I don't think there are more concussions. Because of all research and awarness now more drivers are going and getting checked out just in case. Therefore more concussions are being diagnosed. Doctors tell patients to take time off untill things heal. The major danger is suffering a second concussion before the first one has healed is what caused long term damage. Drivers and other sports figures have been getting concussions for decades but back in the day you just sucked it up and get back out there.

Since everytime you say something on this forum you have to qualify it. What I just posted came from Nurologists at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Concussion Treatment Center where a lot of these high profile sports figures go for treatment, including Dale Jr. I was a patient there

Is it just me or has there been an inordinate number of cars flipping and/or barrel rolling this year? Could that be attributed to faster speeds, track conditions, aggressive driving or people trying extreme setups? As far as faster speeds, it doesn't seem like track records are getting rewritten any more than usual, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

some are figuring out how to stick the rr very hard,the down side is flipping,but the video I've seen he got off of the racing surface(went over the banking and the car pretty much hit on the very top of the roll cage,right above the driver,and on the crown or top of the banking)
while track records are falling but not at a crazy rate,feature speeds are up,cars today just don't fall off as much as they used too

Could the stiffness of the head supports in the seats be an issue? The Hans keep the head from moving front to back. Could the helmets clanking off of the seat braces side to side be an issue. I am sure those guys are evaluating the helmets. Just a thought.

The Longhorns do seem to break apart more than other chassis. Or at least the rear clip.

Someone is going to get hurt soon. We are pushing the envelope which is what we are supposed to do. With costs out of control and guys getting hurt it is time to do something. Don't take away motor. Just fix the turns.
