they tried it at Knoxville once. persistent drizzle and couldn't get the (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) thing to run. but sure was cool to see it at a dirt track! And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

Actually it was not a total waste, as they got the track worked in and ran a few races before another downpour rained it out till tomorrow. They can totally rework their track in about 10 minutes as they have multiple water trucks and multiple rotary tillers. Just way too much rain today.Originally posted by MI Dirt Fan View PostThey tried but obviously it was a waste since they did cancel

I live about 15 miles from the track in Ames, directly east of them. I got over 2 inches of rain last night around midnight...no word yet but they are supposed to get started with yesterdays program at 9am, in 40 minutes. I don't see that happening, but with clear weather today they will get it going and run both programs today. It's a big day for them, Mod qualifying, Stock Car qualifying, etc. and on the second program that starts later today a full second round for mods and stock cars as well as the late model full program...they will be racing until the wee hours of the morning Friday at this point...
