RIP Shane. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I saw that he is from the Versailles area. We stayed several times at the Inn of Versailles when we went to Eldora, and the people around there were some of the nicest we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. By all accounts Shane was no different, and I sure hate to hear about the loss of another young racer. I hate it the most for the kids. That makes it that much more worse.

I saw the entire thing...he hit another car on his drivers side and pancaked the wall hard drivers door first. The track did the right thing by not announcing it until all family had been notified and were given the ok by them to do so. Roger Slack made the announcement about 20 mins after the 100 was over. People will criticize for everything, but it was handled correctly right from the time it happened. The track workers did an excellent job getting there fast and working on him as they were cutting the roof off the car to get him out. Should they have cancelled the rest of the night? I don't think so.
