I agree, it's a good thing. He is a racer. Everybody talks about dirt racing. Well you have a real professional by professional standards racing on the national tour again.Originally posted by Waldo View PostThe thing about Stewart is he won't go away. People told me this year, Stewart is retiring and I said yeah from nascar. I don't believe the guy will ever quit racing.

Wasn't there a fatality at Eldora this year? It didn't involve a sprint car, it involved a mud taxi. I most definitely do not take making light of a horrible tragedy lightly but when you do what these men and women do it's a fact of life that terrible things can happen and obviously it can happen on most any track while driving most any type racecar.Originally posted by Live4DLM View PostWhat an idiot......99.999% of his problems are the result of driving those POS death traps. Definition of insanity .... "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"!!!
Stewart has his faults. They are serious and they are many, but he knew the way to being rich and famous through racing and the path wasn't through racing dirt late models

and your point is Cirf maybe its because the talent level in lates or mods are alot stiffer then the open wheel cars , in short track racing there is some safety concerns in all classes , instead worrying about body panel being askew they tech teams need to check on the safety aspect of the cars by the way the guy that died at Eldora was alot bigger than tony there are alot of drivers bigger than tony also

Oh, okay. So we are to believe that due to the MUCH stiffer driver talent level in mortifieds and late models those guys don't get a shot at the big time? Now that is a very interesting concept. Stupid, but weirdly interesting, nonetheless.Originally posted by old fan View Postand your point is Cirf maybe its because the talent level in lates or mods are alot stiffer then the open wheel cars , in short track racing there is some safety concerns in all classes , instead worrying about body panel being askew they tech teams need to check on the safety aspect of the cars by the way the guy that died at Eldora was alot bigger than tony there are alot of drivers bigger than tony also

Dont Love or Hate Tony, But The Guy He hit was Stoned.. and the Guy that died at Big E was not... Big or small Who Cares.. Car safety Needs too improve Big or Small...And They need too stay In the car till help gets there..The point hes making is Tony can Now race what he wants Because hes RICH Do you have to love him I dont think Tony will lose sleep Over What you Think.. But I could care Less If wins one more race....I love LMD cars But if i could drive one Good,, I love too race Sprint car...Most people can drive a LM, But Not a Sprint car...Originally posted by old fan View Postand your point is Cirf maybe its because the talent level in lates or mods are alot stiffer then the open wheel cars , in short track racing there is some safety concerns in all classes , instead worrying about body panel being askew they tech teams need to check on the safety aspect of the cars by the way the guy that died at Eldora was alot bigger than tony there are alot of drivers bigger than tony also

You are so right Gary. Jack Hewitt drove both throughout his career and said in his biography that a full on 410 sprinter was somewhat tougher to drive and win races in than a dirt late model. He should know, he drove, and won races in both. I also had a conversation with a 6 time FALS dirt late model champion and he drove a sprinter one time and didn't feel he was up to driving one with any degree of success.Originally posted by Cardirt0 View PostI love LMD cars But if i could drive one Good,, I love too race Sprint car...Most people can drive a LM, But Not a Sprint car...
There is a good reason why guys like Stewart, Gordon, Schrader, Newman, Kahne and others all made their name in sprint cars, Silver Crown cars an midgets.

but jack never won in late model and neither has many other open wheel drivers by the way Schrader would not be considerd in the mix with rest he drove everything can a racer really make a comment unless he has won on a consistant basis with a class he normally doesn't run CIRF YOU MAKE IT SOUND SO EASY WHY DON'T YOU TAKE THE CHALLANGE

Years ago I was awaiting Rich Voglers Big shot at Nascar .... Than at 1 am coming home from Michigan I heard it on the news .... Its tuff to see a great driver moving up & than die before he gets his chance ....Several other in the Hoffman cars died doing it too .... As you get older you rerally wonder if its worth dying over ...Retired - Snowbird ... Living the Dream
