    Beckley motor speedway

I hear that a racetrack owner from out of state bought the track at an auction. Looks like the fastest 3/8 in the south will not be permanently closed. They didn't run a race all year and man that was weird. I have been going to Beckley since 1984 and when right the track produced some of the best racing I have seen. They hadn't done much in the super cars since Lucas oil had a race in 2010. They did however house the Fastrak world championship for a couple years. Good to hear the new owner plans to race!

Back in the day they drew all the big names a couple times a year. Purvis, combs, Bloomquist, Moyer, davey and Ronnie Johnson, Boggs, Conley, Balzano,Moran, Swartz, Freddy smith, Francis, and even David Pearson showed up for the USA 100 once. Just a local track that needs to get rolling again. Every track we lose hurts the sport and we have to support our local tracks
