Wouldn't be all that weird for the Rumleys to be running a Rocket. I mean, before Kevin made Longhorns competitive, the Rumleys ran Rockets.Originally posted by SLIDING SIDEWAYS View PostIf true they would have to switch to xr1 chassis.I dont think fergy has much desire for the horn by his damage results from wreck at carolina.

I heard from very reliable source that kevin is hanging it up. He had a dream to go racing with his dad on a national tour so he took a year off to fulfill that dream. But after last year success in spilled over into this year. As far as fergy goes he has other things in the works for next year..

Tinkering with engines probably keeps Lee Roy going so I expect the Rumley hand will continue to be involved in racing (if they were really getting out of the national tours). You don't have to be on the Lucas Oil or WoO tours to be successful. Being the big fish in the little pond is also sometimes rewarding.

I agree with this 100 percent. Why would they want to split? I think all of the success they had in 2015 was sort of a bad thing. I assume both parties are upset that this year hasn't turned out like last year. There 2015 season was the best ever by a late model team, and it's hard to match what they did. Even though they still have a had a good year, it's hard to duplicate what they did last year. You can't live up to the expectations they set last year.Originally posted by 71PRPFan View PostThey would both be fools to split ways.

If they split, I think it will have more to do with schedule than performance. What if Randy Weaver can't get back in the seat?Originally posted by Pennsboro23 View PostI agree with this 100 percent. I don't think they are having a bad year at all. Second in LOLM and somewhere close to 20 wins is not a bad season. I'd bet, 90% of all teams would love that kind of season. If second in the Lucas series is so bad, What kind of appraisal would some put on T Mac's season in third place?
A racer once told me, "if I can finish in the top 5 most of the time and a top 3 some of the time, I can race next week. The difference between first and fifth is McDonalds or Ramican soup. Mickey D's or Ramican all turn into the same thing. Racing is what makes life worth living. " All this glory just sticks around till the next race. The racers have to satisfy their addiction.
