absolutely Cardirt0..... have also heard a 'rumor' and 'rumor' only that Gary Webb might be at Peoria Saturday night also. Gary and Ray sure had there share of battles on the track....
Hopefully someone here can confirm or deny the Gary Webb 'rumor'

I'll second the thanks for the past winners!!

I was there to watch Bohlander win a couple of those Illinois State Championship races. Also watched Tommy Rients win it in '85.

The Illinois State Championship used to be a BIG race along with The Midwest Invitational at Sterling Speedbowl Park in Sterling, Illinois. I'm glad and honored I got to attend several of both.

Webb probably wont make the Peoria event. Its my understanding that Gary had emergency surgery a few weeks ago out east and has returned home just a few days ago......I have no other information except he doing fine.

That Illinois state Championships had alot of meaning for the longest time when Chuck Hamilton was running the show but when Chuck passed away and sherry took over things went to h\3ll in a hand basket thats for sure it became more about how much money she made mo0re than for the honor of their Late Son John Hamilton!!
If you can't race it or take it to bed! It ain't worth having!

Scott Shults has been getting it done for alot of yrs and please correct me if im wrong but didnt he use to announce at Princeton as well back in the day when they were still open? Ray Guss Jr is definately the opitome of the Racers Racer! And Mike Mullvain has been around for many many yrs as well... I remember back yrs ago or at least im thinking it was Mullvain that done this stuff even Built open engines for Late model guys there at peoria and elsewhere...

Please explain yourself, exactly how did that race go downhill when she took over.

Congrats to Feger for the win last night.
