Just watched a little of "Daredevil Drivers" from 1938. Then a little of the 1949 Mickey Rooney midget & big car flick, one of the first racing movies I saw when just a squirt in elementary school. But I drew the line when the Elvis "Speedway" came on. If real racing was like that I probably never would have got hooked on our sport.

I saw Old Fan in the grandstands in one of those Indy scenes.... he was selling Bloomer T-Shirts...

The Mickey Rooney racing flick "The Big Wheel" contained a fairly large amount of actual race footage from Culver City Speedway near Los Angeles California and also of racing at Indianapolis. I believe the actual race footage from the Indy 500 was of the 1949 500 won by Bill Holland.

"To Please A Lady" was another pretty good old racing movie. Released sometime in 1950. It starred Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyck.
