This is good news. I'm with you Tacky -- it's a start. Who remembers when Hav-a-Tampa came to Joliet? The place was almost new and the surface was sketchy, but what a facility! Babb was a pup, still driving the family-owned car. Fought off Moyer and Arp for the first 80 laps before Moyer got by on a restart and went on to win.

You wanna see a facility like the Dirt Track at Charlotte? Then look at Joliet, Charlotte is almost a copy of this place. Glad to see Heckenast get another shot promoting -- and way closer to home. All the best of luck to her. We'll be there.......whether it's October or not.

Read the article, something that got my attention mainly because I've never heard it mentioned in the racing community...... "we are bringing in organic dirt" whats so great about "organic dirt" compared to others ???

I was contacted about this project a few years ago as they were looking for black dirt like we've supplied FALS in the past. We were just too far away to make it work cost wise. So I'm assuming what she's calling "organic dirt" is black dirt that could actually grow something unlike clay.
