Been there too many times, know what to expect. Lol. I'll save the gas money and order the ppv. The DoD deal is the way to go. Plus I have to work early Monday. And there's a pretty big ballgame Saturday night.Originally posted by champion24 View PostCome on Dirt Crow, fly down there and join us! We'll be down Friday. Probably only be there about 50 hours! Its 72 hours, and seems like 72 classes. They qualify everything but canoes and pogo sticks. You won't leave until Sunday morning, because they won't be finished any earlier than about 0330. The whole thing resembles a monkey fu(king a very large red clay colored football. It's been a punchline for years, albeit one with a good paying SLM show.Originally posted by champion24 View PostI'll second that! The Thomas' do have a stigma about dragging things out! Hopefully the racing will be good enough for us to leave happy! And at a reasonable hour! We'll miss ya Doc Watson...

I love the 72 hours of Phenix City, my first major event back in 1986! That year Purvis, Bloomquist, Moyer and many other legends were all in the house. Good times! I've been absent for a few years, but I hope to be back very soon. Have a great time.Politically Incorrect.

I went in 2014 for the first time, I didn't really think it was all that mismanaged. That is the year JD won, we were out of there by about 8 o'clock sunday night after the SLM feature. There is a ton of racing, some of those Sunday afternoon features are pretty interesting.
