I can count on 1 hand how many drivers would make a difference in my decision on what race to go too.
And even then the circumstances would have to be perfect.
I'm happy to have seen and met both but I enjoy great racing more than I enjoy great racers............Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

does not affect my decision to attend. but I can get excited when some of them pull through the gate. a carryover from my childhood when other neighboring tracks rained out and their stars made the trip to my hometown track. And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

Personally, If its just one star driver it doesn't make much of a difference to me, but I do tend to search out and attend the races with the most star drivers. Usually, if there are 5 or more well known top level drivers, I will drive further, and pay more to see that race.

I think the tour or reputation of the unsanctioned special influences fan decisions way, way more than any particular driver does.

As BBQ said there is a small list of drivers that would make me change a decision I've already made to attend a race. However, on weekends where there are no specials or nothing that stands out I do tend to visit my favorite drivers sites (I usually already know where Richards is racing, but more than a few times I've decided to go to a race that I otherwise wouldn't have considered because someone like Gregg Satterlee was racing there). I do take in my fair share of Crate and LLM races though, so I (like BBQ) would say that I prefer great racing over great drivers. If it were drivers alone I would never venture more than 45 minutes from my house (both Williams Grove and Lincoln fall into that range and they feature some of the best Sprint drivers in the country on a weekly basis).
Thanks,
Jeff.
