Kudos: Cedar Lake's Kaufman brothers

I love the way these guys manage the whole operation--indoors and outdoors. Now they have added a $50,000 to win open modified show during June, and then in early August they still have the $50,000 to win USA Nationals--late model. I'm thinking they will draw a ton of people to the camp grounds for the modifieds--people from all over the country. So, what does this post have to do with late models ? Well, today when many tracks are having to cut back or close, these Kaufmans think outside the box to generate income------and that means a track where late models will always be running.

I seen the full pay out thru out the field for this race and it's awesome $50k for 1st $20k for 2nd $10k for 3rd and it pays $2k to start

I love CLS. Hard to watch a race anywhere else from being spoiled by the good racing there. We have a suite on the backstretch and come from 3 hours away anytime I can.

gilpin is late model guy now, harrison works full time

I kinda feel guilty cause I live 15 minutes away from Cedar Lake and only go there like 3 times a year lol I make the 1 plus hour drive as much as I can Friday nights to Red Cedar in Menominee if you ever have the chance check Red Cedar out its awesome

There is no other shows that pay 1/2 what this one will.

Mississippi Thunder speedway in Fountain City, WI hosted a 40-grand to win show this past September. With all that money in the purse it drew 60-cars.

I-94 at Fergus Falls, MN hosted a 15-grand to win show this past June and it drew 57-cars.

This Cedar Lake modified show is another mid-season biggie and kudos for them trying it. But I don't see other tracks not running their weekly mod shows just because this one is going on. The other thing is the big names will show up, but a lot of your weekly racers will not because it just makes more sense to run at home. Those are the racers that make the huge car counts everyone seems to talk about and wants to see.

I'm sure this will be a good show but I would not expect a gigantic car count.
