3 or 4 years ago the December POWRi race over at Du Quoin got snowed out. There were 13 or 14 inches of snow predicted for the area on race day (Saturday) and they called it on Thursday. Very good idea since the St. Louis-Du Quoin-Evansville area ended up getting a foot of snow and a bunch of wind. This time of year anything can happen weather-wise.
First time we went to The Chili Bowl (1997) we saw blowing snow all the way to Tulsa (9 hours) and single digit temperatures all three nights we were there.
Wintertime in the Midwest, always a bit iffy.Comment
