They had issues .. Lots of them.. But it a new race .. lets see if they fix them.. Next year could be a boom or it could get better.. Only time will tell...If you think that you can compare the two .. you are more lost then we think...Turn your pants around then you can zip them up....Originally posted by calverton View PostSeems funny lmao gateway had no issues

The biggest thing is that this race gets NATIONAL Exposure, msn.com, ESPN, MavTV, Fox Sports 1 will all cover this event in some form or another next month. These isn't one other dirt race that will get this kind of exposure.
What they have created at Tulsa in January is a perfect storm. No other racing going on, superstars from other forms of racing either in the event or attending as a fan (Roger Penske was there last year or the year before just to watch), and a captive audience (no other racing going on anywhere in the US or around the World pretty much).
Whether anyone wants to believe it, this event puts dirt racing on the "map" for most non dirt track fans. If it gets 1 or 2 new people to a local track at any point during the regular season it has done more than many promotors at those same tracks will do next season.

WOW! Very well said, vande! The last sentence hits home, because it's the cold hard truth!Originally posted by vande077 View PostThe biggest thing is that this race gets NATIONAL Exposure, msn.com, ESPN, MavTV, Fox Sports 1 will all cover this event in some form or another next month. I believe Chip Ganassi attended The Chili Bowl a year or two ago, as well. 3 time Indy 500 winner Bobby Unser was there last year. He was killing time behind the grandstands and we actually spoke with him for a minute or two.
In regards to dirt track racing exposure The Chili Bowl is the most important race of the year. The years we haven't gone to Tulsa in January we've had a viewing party in our family room when the Saturday night finale' has been available either on PPV or on national cable TV.
There have been as many as a half dozen casual racing fans, people who don't really follow racing but buy chances on NASCAR race boards at the local saloon or maybe attend one race a year get excited about watching The Chili Bowl.
We've had folks who have never been to a race watch it with us and after watching it once those folks now ask every year if the Saturday night finale' is going to be on TV. One such couple went with us to the POWRi race at FALS last July after becoming familiar with some of the POWRi drivers they had watched race at The Chili Bowl on TV.
Exposure of the magnitude of The Chili Bowl is good for all of dirt racing.Last edited by CIRF; 12-29-2016, 02:33 PM.

Au come on look at the last word in his Line.. (THINK) something he dont do LOLOriginally posted by CIRF View PostNo time trials at Tulsa. No ice and snow, either. It's all under 1 roof, cozy and warm! LOL!!
.....
One thing they could do is put a fire sup. set up in side so they can fuel the cars inside.. Seen the air force do it for years .. They set up a over head Fire sup in side, pull the truck under it and run the fuel hose in a window.. Do the same thing but just use 5 gallon cans and have the fuel truck just out side...Then the mods and Lates would not have too go out side....
