Mike Marlar looking for more success in new Black Diamond

Mike Marlar is accustomed to having success on dirt tracks. The Winfield, Tenn. driver has scored major wins all over the country in touring series races and crown jewels alike. And in 2017, the defending champion of the Knoxville Nationals is looking to add even more trophies to his collection in a new Black Diamond Chassis that he and his Ronnie Delk-owned team debuted with a runner-up finish in 'The Hangover' on Saturday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway.

Right. It's like Davey J on crack. In the last couple years, it seems to have gone: Rocket/Longhorn/Rocket/Capital/Longhorn/Capital/Black Diamond. I'm thinking this year see another switch or two. I'd bet he ends up in a Rocket XR1 at some point in 2017.

This is one chassis switch I don't understand... Mike was consistant, winning races, a threat no matter where they unloaded and suddenly switch cars, makes no sense. Its not the BD is a bad car, there great, but like the ole saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Best of luck starting over with a different car. To me this is like Bloomquist suddenly showing up for the world 100 in a GRT(or gasp!) a Rocket, makes no sense on any level.

It seemed to me that Mike was just starting to get that Capital figured out, and he had a good relationship with that bunch as well. He was starting to run real well in it towards the end of the season.

Marlar is pretty good at adapting to the cars quickly but this one doesnt make any sense at all like everyone has said..... He had that Capital Car figured out and was winning Races in it Big races as well and then his Owner does this sh!T..... I agree with Josh i see him in a XR1 before the season is over....

Every time he was asked about it, he couldn't rave enough about the Capital. He was definitely satisfied with it.
