Gateway Dirt Nationals paid nothing if you weren't in the A Main

Apparently if you did not qualify for the A Main you did not get paid a penny at the Gateway Dirt Nationals. No tow money, nothing. Zero. It was a $300 entry fee to get in also. I was wondering why they did not publish the purse, now we know. I also heard the payoff was terrible. Anyone else hear this?

Word on street is that the payoff was very bad, I think Friday night total purse was $11,000 and Saturday purse was better but not for what was charged to get in. Also have you noticed how quite it has been since this race has been run, with only DOD giving it some reviews, not much else about it. We never heard if Bloomquist tires were right. Also understand that there were some cleanup issues at the dome that those people were not happy about, just curious to see what develops with this

This is correct. We were in a C main Friday and a B Main Saturday and recieved nothing. Terrible. Spent lots on entry fee, pit passes, fuel, hotel,etc. We consistently asked officials about the payoff and they tried to play it off and act as if they did not know. We later found out why. After all the money made on the event the promoter should do the right thing and mail a check to each driver. We will not be back.

Only Bloomquist, the mod winner, the promoter, Dirt on Dirt, area businesses and few others made money on this race. All the other racers paid in alot of money and went home with a little or nothing. They did a great job of promoting this race. They convinced alot of people before and after that it was a huge deal and great for the sport (lol). I didn't go and will not go if they have it again.
