Maybe they did what they did at Rockford and made it a non-points feature at the last minute.

In post race interview he said he wished it had as a points night. Cut laps by
10 when track was best it had been all night....not surprised if they made it non points. Not impressed last couple of days

What a joke. Shouldn't matter what the track is like. If it's scheduled to be a points race, it should be a points race. All drivers had to drive on that same track. It's not like some had an advantage. I guess we're making the rules as we go. WoO has done some suspect things this week.

So, I have a question...if last night was a points night at only 23 laps, how is tonight NOT a points night? Going by their points page, it shows 3 races being a points night (17/18, and last night).

I have no answer to that. I do know this: this is my first time to the Dirtcar Nationals and, if this is par for the course on the way WOO runs things, it will be my last. Have wanted to do this for a long time and after this, I'm leery to do again. Bad experience

Nice to see Brett Hearn break last year's curse and get the win tonight in the Big Block Mods. It had been over 20 years since he had a winless season so he gets '17 off to a good start.

Hearn won this race last year also, so I dont understand why they say he was winless in 2016

I also heard Moyer Jr's comment about the points and didnt understand, but that's a really good question. Why make the 23 lapper for points but not the 40?

After watching it in person, that was the worst I have ever saw. We were getting covered with sand during hot laps, no wet clods like usual. The first attempt at track prep did very little and it was back to normal after a few laps.

They did re-work the track before the feature and made it a decent race, not terrible but just ok.

We were told it was a new track prep crew, but theres no excuse for those conditions. The worst part for me is I had already purchased the ppv for the week but decided to watch it in person! SMH

This week at Volusia was the worse I have seen there in 10 years. What happened to the track crew that seemed to always get it right. If this is a new crew they need different one because this week at Volusia was a disgrace. Hope they find a new crew because I think the crew they had did Lernerville and Charlotte. Hate to see these guys screw those two up like they did this week.

I looked at the points update on WOO and they definitely counted last night as points. B-Shep had 420 points entering the race, and now has 480 pts. As far as BMJ and his comments, I'm trying to figure that out, as all the regulars on WOO have 4 races started, EXCEPT BMJ, who has "3". He also had "3" before the race last night. So, this is a head scratcher. I'm not sure why points wouldn't count for him, but would count for everyone else.
