    Jeremy Mayfields Return to Dirt

Remember this from a few years ago. Did he ever race after this announcement. They had pictures of the car and hauler and he was going to start out by racing down south. ↓

On September 29, 2014, Mayfield announced he would compete full-time in dirt and Super Late Model racing for 2015. On October 8, 2014, Mayfield started a Dirt Late Model team with plans to compete full-time in the World of Outlaws, with Mayfield as driver of the J2 car and Aaron Thomas as owner; Charlotte Motor Speedway owner Humpy Wheeler is an assistant for Mayfield.

He came to Cleveland County Fairgrounds (not exactly a lot of big names there) a couple times. Couldn't even keep up there, not even close. I for one was extremely underwelmed.

Found these on YouTube. Nothing new has been posted to the channel for over two years.
His website is no longer up.

Saw him run some asphalt modified races in North Carolina that year. He looked decent but his performance was sub par from what I thought it should be. But I will say the guy was super nice, very welcoming, and at the end of talking to him I really started to believe his story that maybe he had been done wrong.

I feel the same way. Makes you question what's true and what isn't coming from a large heavy handed corporation.
History doesn't always repeat, but it does often rhyme.

Hard to believe with such big plan, car, hauler and funding from an owner it went from the whole Outlaw tour to no Outlaw races.

2014, He came to the ULTIMATE season-ending race at NC's County Line Raceway. Ran a few laps, got lapped, and pulled in.

Sometimes owners don't have as much money as they lead people to believe. I don't know his story, but have seen a lot of the come and go enough to know that not many can afford a car owner life style

He was arrested and convicted on drug charges after the NASCAR ban, so I think it was legit.https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...arges/4356557/
