There is serious construction on I-57 at Champaign and also on I-74 west of Champaign. If it were me, and I would thank the guy who told me this, If you are headed north on I-57 at Champaign, I would get off at exit 229 and take that west 1/4 mile to Staley Road. Go north and Staley Rd runs into Route 150. Take that west and it will take you into Farmer City. This will save at least 30 minutes in construction delays. Google maps will be your friend, but you will not enjoy getting in those construction zones.

I agree with Jet Jockey. Although Route 150 is only two lanes, it is pretty decent and a straight shot into Farmer City.
