I totally agree, no one really cares anymore. I do not hear anyone talking about it. ( oohhhh I must go see a summer nationals race) it truly has become a thing of the past. just saying!!!

The rock thrower stuffed it in the wall in hotlaps last night. Couldn't help but think of this post where his tendency to be hard on equipment was brought up.

Well, Jimmy Owens stuffed it into the wall twice and last years World 100 winner did as well. It happens.

Admission prices are keeping people away also.

This is why booby doesnt run one of the big series (well one of the reasons). He knows hes a shoe in to win that title. Sad

I think it's pretty smart of them money wise to run the Summer National tour. There is 30,000 a week for 5 or 6 weeks potential purse money alone to be made with most races within 4 hours of their home.

I really don't know what's so sad about that.

They have a car count problem not an attendance problem, I've been to Highland, I55, Granite City, Farmer City, Fairbury, Spoon River etc and the stands have been packed for every one of those races.

Packed means sold out or close to it and I haven't seen that the he last few years. Look at it with clear eyes for once. People can NOT afford to take the Family to many races anymore and that sir is a fact. I have been watching since 1968 so I have saw plenty.

If you're that cheap, you should stay home. There is also a mandatory 2 cheeseburger and a coke charge as well. That would probably put you in the red.
