That's the downside of belonging to an organization, you sometimes have to do things that you don't personally believe in. He did stand up for what he thought was right and so did the other party. At this point there is no shortage of tracks booking events and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of fans that pay the bills at the events. Even the fans on here who bash UMP are talking about and/or attending the summer nationals races. Until the tracks stop booking events (not likely) and fans quit attending, the strong arm will continue.

Again, you are getting technical, we all know whose car it was.

Who do you think got the smelly end of the stick?

If he was done wrong by them, Tony should be celebrating not being associated with UMP any longer. Why argue and complain about it?

As long as the drivers come to the events and race, the (Most, anyway) fans will come sit in the stands, regardless of their opinions of the status quo. The drivers and promoters are the ones that have to bring about change, if they really want to.

I can't disagree. My point was that it is still profitable (must be) to belong to the sanction, so if you want to be a part of it, sometimes you'll have to swallow your pride. That's all
I don't think this strong arm stuff is new, I think we just hear more about it now due to social media. We will all have to deal with it unless Lucas starts a weekly track deal.

The part I agree on with Tony is that it should have been Sam that told them they couldn't race. It was HIS sanction that he was banned from. Just goes to show that Sam rally doesn't have any kahunas

It should have been, I agree, UNLESS there is a legal reason why. Maybe he was advised not to have any contact with the Best team by WRG attorneys? We don't know and prolly never will.
Josh added to the show for sure, but personally I do not know of any fans that attended only because he was there, so I think the risk Tony took was all for nothing.

Even if the attys. said they couldn't talk, they surely had a way to say you can't race here tonight. That excuse is lame.

He came with a truck that could have been bought, leased or stolen for that matter. Tony couldn't prove differently. That is why he wanted documentation from Driggers. To cover Tony from a known litigious race team. WRG wanted them not to race, but evidently didn't want the legal blame for it. Instead they punished Tony for not doing a job that shouldn't have been his. WRG banned Best racing. They had the documentation, or didn't as far as we know.. They have never even released a copy of the tire tests. Sam fibbed about being Tony's friend, because you don't treat friends or even pardners that way. Tony did not ban Best from his track, UMP did. It was not Tony's job or responsibility to ban them from his track. Driggers was there and could have done it, but it didn't suit his agenda. DOD is not going to say anything derogatory about Izzo or WRG. I don't blame them, they need a working relationship. So what, they may have solved the Tire law suit, but did they do it fairly and in full view of the racers promoters and fans? Either your above board or hiding something. DOD may think it's over, but It won't be over until WRG stops abusing their power. Can anyone here prove that Josh Richards and Best racing didn't have any kind of verbal contract loaning leasing or buying the race car and hauler? No more than you could prove the tires where testing bad.
Very, very good post. I think you nailed it. It was a UMP event, it was a UMP suspension and an actual UMP official should've made the call, enforced and handled it, NOT the "promoter".

are you claiming that BEST was not notified they were suspended? Lmao, I'm positive that anyone that has anything to do with dirt racing knew they were suspended....INDEFINITELY.
The team has not ran any other WRG events. I guess in your mind they just chose to skip all the others? I bet I'm closer to being right by saying this was all a planned deal, shenanigans and all.
