Fairbury and the PDC Tire Rules

I'm not a tire expert. Are the saying the racing has been bad and they are changing the rules accordingly?

Late Model Tire Rule Update for Fairbury Speedway:

As announced in the drivers meeting this past Saturday night, due to the upcoming PDC and track performance results, the Hoosier LM 30 will be allowed on the LF, RF, LR

Updated FALS tire rule.
LF, RF, LR - Hoosier LM 20/30 option and if can be grooved and siped.
RR - Hoosier LM 30/40 option , no grooving, but Siping allowed.

It could be tire wear concerns or poor racing caused by overheated LM20 rf tires.

They do. They work with the tracks to determine what's best for that area. There's nothing shocking about the PDC tire rule as grooving/siping will soon become a thing of the past. Tri City will be no grooving/siping on all 4 corners this weekend. I-80 will be no grooving/siping on RR next weekend. And those are Lucas races.

A thing of the past for national series, at least. That is what their clients want. Now, everyone just has to get a needler. Smh

Didn't Eldora start this trend??? The support for it was overwhelming if I recall correctly.

The national series aren't the only ones doing it. It's trickled down to regional and local series/tracks as well.

Yep, I've seen one being pretty vocal about it.

The series that recognize the needs of the remaining working man teams will probably not do it. AMRA, series like that. A lot of the high buck, I want to buy speed guys, hate tire grooving.

That is true. Everybody that has been supportive of it has been the younger guys. I remember an interview with Mark Richards he said something to affect that tire grooving was an advantage within the team, much like driver/crew talent.
