Wow. How do some of these guys not support this event. Where is Feger, Unzicker, Heckenast, Weaver, Spatola, Erb, Babb, Moyer, Sheppard, and on and on...

I'll take a stab at this one. Feger & Moyer were at Plymouth last monday & Oshkosh on tues. Moyer was also at Shawano wed. Then they went to Cedar Lake for Thur-Saturday. Moyer actually pulled out of CL a few minutes ahead of us on Sun morning. Babb was also at CL.

B-Shepp, Erb, & Heckenast raced Tuesday thru Saturday as well.

So...5 nights of racing with basically zero time to give the cars a good once over and take a break, both drivers and crew, before the N/S.

The full-time touring guys race just about every weekend between Feb - Oct, so at some point they have to say no. Unfortunately, these two races in IA were the no vote.

Diesel from CL to Iowa, plus entry fees, plus tires, plus $20/lap to run the car for hot laps, qualifying, heat race and 50 lap feature. Minimum, that's a 3k investment with no tow money.

Weaver, Opie and Unzicker haven't ventured much from IL this year. If you were one of those guys would you shell out 3k to possibly win 10k knowing Bloomer, Clanton, Marlar, Simpsons, etc were there. That's a big expense to put up knowing you have a better chance of heading home with $600.

I completely get the frustration, but financially these teams/drivers simply can't afford to race them all.

Personally I think these 2 races should be run the Mon and Tues. following the Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80, so the drivers can stop on there way to Fairbury for the PDC

I agree, the dates for these events hasn't ever worked well after CL. I was there and supported, but 10K to win anymore isn't even a draw anymore to attract "National" teams. I understand it's expensive, but I wish they'd promote LOLMDS or WoO rather than what they're doing now.

Bloomquist is being paid to show up, that's why he's there.

And that's not why, no one gives a sh!t about that. Anyone who could get it would. You think he's the only one to be paid to attend a race? It's about logistics and Cedar Lake and Florence. Big races at Eldora come around, same thing, any race trying to draw in some guys on there way to a big race, just don't do very well. Most people are concentrating on the upcoming big race.

It's not something groundbreaking he did, or is doing.

Every WOO or LOLM race you have seen, someone has been paid to show up. The sanctioning group takes the money and gives it to their drivers for show up money. Did you think the sanctioning group supplies big named cars for nothing?
