Who else was running The Rumley Device at the time when Davenport was running it? Anything that can make a dirt car that much faster is an awesome invention. The problem I see when I watched some of the video clips of JD winning, is that when he passed guys for the lead, he put half a straightaway on them. He should of just lifted a little, and it wouldn't of been so obvious that the device was working so good.

there was quite a few people after around may 2015 that did a dang good job copying it, everyone said they had to do quite a bit of testing to get it to work anywhere close. You also have to remember, it was NOT illegal at all in 2015. in 2016 it was outlawed by the rules committee before florida speedweeks. 2014 inerter shocks were the legal speed source of bloomer and others that got banned in 2015.

The 6 was the only car that had the actual device. Lots of guys tried replicating it, and some got pretty close, but none of them experienced anywhere near the same success.
