congrats to Babb. First, you don't need extra HP on some tracks. The advantages of a smaller engine on these is less rotating weight, so it lasts longer. There is less chance o overpowering the track and they lend themselves to higher RPM and that can translate to less engine braking and making the rear loose on entry. This is purely due to the mechanical advantage of a lower gear. Hope that helps.
