I was on the Eldora site to see if they had the entry list posted and found a pretty cool page that has complete history of the World 100 with stats that are sortable. It's not real easy to find so I figured I'd post the link for those that are interested.

I'm sure a few remember why they done it. Bshep won 2 prelim nights a few years ago, and didn't make the show. Some agree with it, and some don't. I don't most generally care for provisionals, but this one doesn't bother me as much. If the #2 point man has a flat in his heat Saturday, he's pretty much done for the weekend. At least with this, a fast car won't miss the show.Comment

Take the top 2 in qualifying and put them on the front row of the feature. Then the rest run the preliminary features to determine the rest of the field, then add a few from the Bmains. Then the highest qualifying car(s) that doesn't make it in gets a provisional.Comment
