    Tyler Esh

I know this isn't late models, but no one is in the sprint forum. And it is about an injury to a race car driver. And I know some people were going to the 4 Crown.

What happened to him? Is he ok? I cannot find anything online anywhere.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

My boss is a huge non wing fan,. I talked to him on his way home. I asked him how was the 4 Crown...... He said way to many wrecks and flips ending In trips in the ambulance. Collapsed lung, neck injury and bleeding of the brain. That's the one I'm assuming you're asking about. He said Rico flipped the sh1t out of his midget. Never came back out in any division.

    Hope that helps

I'm sure it is. I believe he is the son of Doug Esh, who was a helluva sprint car guy with the Pa Posse. He quit because of another concussion. Has a pretty successful business too, and I think he works for DMI maybe??

Thanks for the help, my Mom is visiting and seen it on Facebook. Which I don't have, and my 61 yr old Mom does lol.

Not sure of Tyler's injuries but wanted to clear a few things up.
Tyler is actually Doug Esh's nephew. Doug's son is Jared Esh, who is also a sprint car driver, who incidentally was injured a few weeks ago with back injuries and his finished for the season. Jared started racing 410's in the middle of the year. It has been a rough year for all the Esh's. Doug injured his shoulder in a freak accident while on vacation in the Outer Banks this summer. A wave hit him from behind causing him to fall causing damage to his shoulder. Prayers to all of them.

Thanks for clearing that part up, I wasn't positive, why I put I believe, a shame for all of them. Good racers.

Rico's Facebook page posted earlier that he is fine. I guess he will be taking a couple weeks off recoop.

I was there on Friday night and there was not a big hole in turn 1. Track was smooth and fast. Even in the World of Outlaws A main they were still in the high 13's and low 14's. I was not there last night but I do know the track was much slower and with 4 classes of sprints and that will tend to happen when its 95 degrees out.

Turn 3 always has the dip. But I was in the infield and then the stands and the rest of the track was great

Doug Esh has not retired from Sprint Car driving. He was in the Mark Coldren #07 for the entire 2017 season until his vacation accident.

Sh!t, I'm sorry, I meant Dave Ely. That is who I was referring too about DMI and that. Once you said that it clicked.

it's a real shame. esh only made 1 full lap then as he came off 2 he hit the wall a ton, did a 360 in the air then stopped. then the 00 car hit him full bore. I knew it wad bad it took forever to get him out of the car. with the head injury they were very slow getting him out of the track. hope for a full recovery. and yes doug esh is a badass posse member!!!

We were at the 4 Crown, as well. I didn't see the crash that injured Esh but as mentioned before it took a long time to extricate Tyler from the car.

Rico went into #1 a bit too hot and wall contact initiated a series of pretty violent tumbles. Rico was slated to drive a winged sprinter at La Salle Sunday night in the Waite Jr. Memorial but scratched that deal. As hard as he hit a couple of times during the crash I can imagine that he's going to be pretty sore for a while. The way Rico goes about his racing it's somewhat surprising that something like this hasn't happened before now. Rico pushes the limits lap after lap. We certainly anticipate his return to driving. Rico is one of the most exciting drivers there is at this point in time.

It was posted on Facebook that Tyler Esh has bleeding on the brain, a collapsed lung and a cracked vertebrae.
