After winning the DLM feature last night at Delaware International, long time DLM & Big Block Modified driver Ricky Elliott, announced his retirement. Although there had been rumors, the announcement comes as somewhat of a surprise. He has been a force for many years in the Mid-Atlantic region and will be missed.

After winning his second race in as many weeks, Ricky announced in Victory Lane last night at Georgetown Speedway that he has reconsidered his previously announced retirement and will return behind the wheel driving a DLM in 2018....funny how winning changes things.Last edited by BTExpress; 10-29-2017, 05:51 PM. -
This has to be the fastest out of retirement announcement ever. But it was 7 Days .... that’s usually never in the racing world. Guys should not announce retirement until they really think about it and then wait for 12 months to make sure. In those same two announcements Ricky said that he was retiring because he could no longer afford it. And during the week one of his long time sponsors talked to him and decided to take over primary funding of the team. So while maybe a little quick i think this situation was different than either of the Moyers and othersComment
