Shirley could not carry around water for Superman. I dont understand how guys like him continue to get good rides like this while others struggle. You know hes gonna wad it up at some point over the weekend and blame it on someone else!

I would also bet that car wouldn't have finished 9th with JD behind the wheel. Just sayin its been a top 3 car for the last 2 months

Pretty fair statement....considering 9 of last 10 races JD ran in GR's car he finishes no worse than 3rd.Pretty good stats right there.

I like Brian, but any level headed person has to admit that he had better, more consistent results when he was in Pierce cars. That goes for another driver as well. That's not a bash toward either driver, just an observation.

I think the inconsistency of Shirley over the last year and a half lead to Arnie Ranta pulling the sponsorship from the 3s. He started off good in FL the last two years and by mid season he was mired back deep in the points. Lack of something when that happens two years in a row. No major sponsor is going to wait for things to improve with big money on the line and a repeat lack of performance in todays world. Shirley's hope of a big sponsor probably isn't there anymore.

Spot on as for "another driver", but Brian was probably his best in a Rocket. Which is what he will be in come 2018.

Consistency has nothing to do with it. Especially when Shirley’s money went to Jason Rauen and Arnie is still on Brent Larsons car. Neither of those drivers are close to Shirley in the performance department.

He owns the B1 team, lock stock and barrel, good equipment for what I saw and Larson is an old friend. Arnie told me he has hopes that team will get up to speed, maybe run with the Outlaws in 2018. As for Rauen he to is a friend as is Jordan Yaggy but they have regular jobs and race when they can.

Didn’t realize Arnie owned Larson’s stuff. That explains the extreme upgrade in equipment in this last off season. Rauen has plenty of $$$ and races maybe 15 times a year. Just thought the whole timing of that deal was interesting.

It looks like Larson has improved, I don't think anyone in the country ran more races then him, I added up his webside schedule and it is over 100 races! If there was a race he was there so Arnie is letting him race and giving him great equipment. Probably setting him up to run the WoO series. Must have been more going on then just results for Arnie to give the boot to Shirley at midseason.

Earlier someone said that they would take JD over Shirley, well my question is how many races has JD won without KD and some sort of devise on their car?
