    R.I.P. Guy Volk #77v - Indiana (Chicago area racer) killed in constructoon accident

    For those that raced with Guy Volk #77v Super Late Model.
    Guy was from Portage, Indiana (South Haven area) Raced primarily at Crown Point Speedway, Kamp, Hartford, LaSalle, & Kankakee over his career but ventured out to other tracks.

    That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear this. I raced against Guy a number of times when LaSalle still raced weekly. I don't recall ever speaking to him personally, but I had a great deal of respect for him as his equipment and team always appeared very neat, and about as squared away as one could be. He was a good racer, too.

    My condolences to his friends and family. I wish only the best for those affected by this tragedy.

        Dunno if he was the foreman, but to be in his 60’s in the hole is abnormal. Being a pipelayer is a hard job, tough on your body. As an operator, this guy made a fatal error. He took his eyes off of his task, while not having the bucket down and the controls locked out.

        It can happen easily, and I cannot imagine being him. I feel for him and Guy’s family.
        Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.
