Why are you so butthurt over an opinion based poll?
-
I have to believe that the guys that cover the sport front and back, are at every track, watch every lap and then get to talk to almost everybody in the business while doing so probably have a pretty good handle on getting the rankings pretty close most of the time.
I don't always agree with them because I have my favorites too.......but to say they don't offer a pretty good snapshot of what's happening every week would be incorrect IMO.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Why should either Tmac or Scott be ahead of the other 2 mentioned? This poll is weighted heavily like college football used to be. What did you do this week 1st and then the rest of your season. The last few weeks both Timmy and Scott have had more bad runs than good ones.
Since his return JD has been very consistent and won 2 of the biggest events in the sport. Overton has remained super consistent and maintained in the top 5-7 most of the year.
Erb fell out last week I believe - see the story from Erb himself on DoD about his struggles the last few months.
You can disagree if you want to. That is okay. But as BBQB said at least 9 of the voters read, write and live DLM racing every day of every week. The other isn't so smart but he tries to keep up and do what he thinks is right.

Zero isn’t getting any younger but can’t have him disrespected like that. He raced 1 car for 3 months because that’s all h had! 2018 you will see 2 new chassis to start the season that aren’t totally redesigned but minimum 2 new chassis unlike 2017. Fellas do not forget who is the best ever to do it!

I don't see how you can have jd or Overton ranked above Tmac. World finals Tmac and overton avg. the same for both nights. Tmac raced the best national guys every week. Overton and jd not so much. If going wave dtwc Tmac was going for broke put all on the line. Dod ranking is joke lots of times.

Again what did you do this week FIRST and then what did you do the rest of the year. TMac was up and down a lot more than Overton therefore Tim's bad runs hurt him worse than Brandon's would because of consistency. Tim had a great year and made a charge at the end. But it was week to week and up and down earlier that kept him out of the top 3 for the most part.
JD had a bad season early on and actually fell out of the ranking at one point. But he took several weeks off and then left the BWRC House Car. He returned in GR's car and immediately won and was right back in the thick of things. Then he won the BIGGEST dirt race in the World and he jumped way up. He then maintained consistency and won another one of the top 10 races in the World in the Hillbilly which vaulted him even higher.
That is how I see it. I am just one guy. Its okay if you disagree. But I can articulate why I vote as I do. No one that disagrees has offered any compelling argument or anything past "I don't see how you..." and "rankings are a joke". If I am wrong then convince me I am. Don't just tell me I am.Last edited by flagone; 11-08-2017, 08:58 AM.

For years I have questioned DoD's rankings, but have come to accept it as what Kelly said, "what have you done lately." Like he said, the votes are based off of recent results. Not what you did in February or July. Why it may be a unique formula for ranking racers, you just have to accept it for what it is. A current ranking of drivers and not a yearly tally of what one has accomplished.
Overall, I'd say it is pretty accurate considering they use the average of 10 guys with pretty good knowledge of the sport.8/13/16
