Haven’t heard that one time. It has always been him tinkering on his car and not leaving on time.

And they aren’t building customers cars, there are no customers.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

He said in post race interview after winning one night this year at East Bay he probly spent too much time working on customer cars last year and that's why he was late showing up to events and he was hoping to fix that for this coming season.

Gavin Landers and Brandon Kinzer are running em too. Davey J had one too, have no idea where that car is now.

I knew Landers had them but didn't include them because of the fact they won't be anymore.

Well, no one runs them, so I guess that is what it is. 2008 or whatever heck ya, but then he was definitely taken way too much time away from his own program.

Notice it didn't say that they require a welder to be 'certified'? Need some schooling or two years OTJ... I would bet a lot of us here could make the grade.

Schooling doesn't mean you're certified BTW.

This isn't a knock on Rocket or anyone else....

I don't think the majority of welders make even relatively close to $200k. In fact Glassdoor says the average salary for a welder in the United States is $36k for someone who works 40 hrs a week, and 90% of welders in the United States make less than $57k.

                  Thanks,

Well that $150k and a lot more $$ is out there for pipeline welders and industrial pipe welders more than you think. It is a breed where you better be willing to run the road hard, work 12+ hours a day 7 days a week, be the best of the best, and gamble with your job every time the X-ray truck pulls in and or you hit the test booth.

probably going to be welding up the modified chassis' they just built the building for there.
There are more modified's out there than there are late models. looks like they are seeing the writing on the wall.
plus copying Longhorn again, cause they got into the modified market as well....lol
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

Very limited quantity unless you count the Ruhlman cars or others.

A buddy does pipeline welding and only works the fall and winter.

I have another buddy that was the chassis fab and general fab guy that worked for morgan mcclure motorsports in the mid 90's. Said the only time he made a decent chunk was when they won the 500 or Kodak came through on some bonus money. He owns a collision shop in VA now so he was far from getting rich. He inquired about an open position at JR motorsports to be a chassis fab guy and it paid about 45k. I dont see Rocket paying much better

I went to college to be welding instructor at a vo tech school and it only paid about 29k to do that. Coal mine mechanics got paid extremley well in my area but the coal business has since died.

I'm not sure where davey j's bloomquist car ended up. It was at Tim Logan's but it isnt there now.

I ended up getting the Bloomquist car he had a couple months ago but it wasnt davey j's car. Ive already decided that getting ahold of bloomquist to get spare parts is near impossible and cant even approach him at the track. Im not so sure Bloomquist helps dale mcdowell or brandon kinzer. It takes people, price, service, and inventory to make any business work. Personally I dont think he has any of those things. The other brands offer exactly that, they have so much speed now, he cant sell a car on his name anymore.

I thought if you bought a bloomer car it had to be returned to him if you were to get rid of it. This may have been an old deal done in contracts yrs ago but not sure.

I’m not disputing that, but still, they have absolutely experimented with mods over the years.

And currently, they have a hard enough time delivering late models in a timely manner. If they are hiring new people, I doubt it’s to mass produce cars for a market that isn’t nearly as lucrative or popular in their particular area.

Erb has his old cars for sale. Im sure bloomy has some odd clauses and junk. Im not so sure he'll even help me since i didnt buy from him. You cant even get ahold of anyone at the shop. Hes always on the road and nobody is there to answer during the week. Bad deal all around.
