Being from an area with some classic bullring tracks, i have seen a lot of these type of races and i know it is closer racing, but the amount of cautions at Gateway is crazy...Kinda slows things down a bit...Seemed like it took them a while to get the track cleared too...just sayin

I thought in most cases they had the track cleared and ready to go again very quickly.Originally posted by highgroove View PostBeing from an area with some classic bullring tracks, i have seen a lot of these type of races and i know it is closer racing, but the amount of cautions at Gateway is crazy...Kinda slows things down a bit...Seemed like it took them a while to get the track cleared too...just sayin

You think maybe because a lot of those guys are not used to racing on small bullrings that much.Originally posted by highgroove View PostBeing from an area with some classic bullring tracks, i have seen a lot of these type of races and i know it is closer racing, but the amount of cautions at Gateway is crazy...Kinda slows things down a bit...Seemed like it took them a while to get the track cleared too...just sayin

Depends on what type of caution it was. If 3 guys pile into each other and are hooked together, like in the mod feature or the 2 flips in the late models. Then yeah, that’s gonna take a minute or two. But given most of the cautions were guys spinning out because they ran out of talent. They had the lineup re stacked and they were ready to go fairly quickly.Originally posted by highgroove View Postyou must have a fast watch....from where im sitting , cautions took up the most time and most folks hate cautions...
Been to a lot of tracks and the folks at Gateway were pretty efficient. You would’ve had a stroke at Knoxville. Those guys had no clue on how to hook to late model. It became a drinking game by Saturday.

Friday racing was way better than Thursdays. Of course its a crash fest...theyve crammed 2 cans of Lincoln Logs into one can. Thats a tiny track for full size race cars. I bet midgets would be a show on that track.

Train racing is better than freezing all night long lolOriginally posted by ClampedUp View PostWould gladly trade working my 12 hour night shifts outside in the freezing cold to watch racing inside in the middle of December no matter how many cautions there were and how long the racing took.

Because you never heard of them they can't drive?Originally posted by jog49 View PostA lot of that "crashing" could be attributed to what I observed......from the list of drivers, I had only heard of 22 of them. Most were unknown entities.
Wow,...
You should probably get out a bit more.

With only 2 cars transferring each consolation race that's starting like 16 cars each, I would expect to have quite a few during Saturdays event.
