2018 fastrak rules update – new shock/suspension rules

They still have non winged sprints and a lot of people say they put on a way better races the the winged sprints

I prefer the Non-wing, but I've seen good shows put on by both.

As to the DLM rule debacle, like another poster said, if they were serious about fixing things they wouldn't tip-toe around making tiny tweaks and half hearted revisions. They should've nipped it in the bud in 98' when the first cars started jacking up so wildly, it was obvious to me then it was unnecessarily dangerous and hard on equipment. Now 20 years deep down this mine shaft and everybody with pull is too afraid to or too stupid or too greedy to make the decision to reverse course and leave this hole and head back to the surface. Its not an insurmountable impossible task, but nobody wants to be the one to make the call, lots of sponsorship dollars to consider. What if the other series don't follow suit? After 30 years involvement and participation in DLM to one degree or another its obvious to me the patient won't be saved, it is terminal. Maybe another class similar will emerge to take its place, but DLM as a class is headed WFO straight for the wall... When the root of the tree gets diseased and sick eventually the whole tree falls and the roots of DLM are rapidly decaying.

If your talking about my post, I'm not really trying to make a point, other than silly rules have been made before, yet no one learns from it. I like open wheel racing. These rules, I was talking about happened in the 1960s. If we don't learn from those stick your finger in the dike rules, we just run out of fingers.

Have silly rules been made before? Sure, but where you and I disagree apparently is the finger in the dike thing. It's my opinion a lot of silly rules or the need for a finger in the dike could be avoided if rules that mattered were enforced instead of turning a blind eye. Unless the rule is making the powers that be money it's a 50/50 shot (probably way better) that you will get by with it. However, if you have the wrong tire on there is probably a good chance your not racing until you change it.

Your correct this problem has been festering for awhile. A small group of people have been complaining for years. It effected the weekly races first, then regional guys started falling by the wayside and only recently some of the national guys have started to complain


Here is the problem. Everybody is going to go with what the 2 national series allows. They aren't going to go with anything radically different then those guys. Well those guys are still drawing a crowd, have decent car counts, and lots of sponsorship dollars so it's head in the sand. Full steam ahead. They are't worried about it because it's not effecting them currently. When it effects them that's when they will come around and it will probably be too late.

It's only a question of how long does it take to catch up too them. I'm sure with the recent announcement of all the new drivers following those series they think they are in a good position. I wonder how many of those new guys make it pass half season on tour though
