I may be off on this a little but here is the jest of it.Originally posted by DirtRaceJunky View PostWho is Clanton????Shaw claims to have the same motor combo he ran last year in the WISSOTA races. I am doubting that claim.
Wissota starting allowing an open engine with a restrictor plate, Don used it at the first of the year and won a bunch of races. It was decided that maybe that was an unfair advantage so they scrapped it and was no longer allowed. Don put back in the wissota engine and continued to win, somewhere around mid season he installed a 525 crate with the allowed 11" spoiler. He continued to win so eventually they cut an 1 1/2" off the spoiler down to 9.5" and still he won. I do believe they have finally cut or are going to cut the spoiler down to the same 8" on the 525.
I may be off a little here or there but that covers it mostly. I'm assuming he's using that same open engine without the restrictor that he did in wissota.
Hope that makes things a little more clear for everyone, but he did use 3 different engine combo's last year on all those wins he had.Last edited by billetbirdcage; 01-12-2018, 04:20 PM.

Here's an idea. The guy bought a Moyer car, actually stuck with it,figured it out and now it is paying off. All these copycat drivers trying to buy speed and changing chassis every 2 months should pay attention. Mr Shaw seems like a very smart dude who took the time to developers a car that felt good to him,and it has served him well. Others should have that kind of patience and pick one chassis and fit it to their own driving style.

And he probably is running the best of anyone in a Moyer Victory chassis including the Moyer's.Originally posted by SHOE32 View PostHere's an idea.
