4m at its best was the early years of the late 90's/early 00's, when a lot of DLM media people posted here regularly. By 2005 or so the site was starting to get run down by a few attention-seeking juveniles who decided to make 4m their own personal romper room. It was never the same after that, as most of the media people and a lot of other really good posters got tired of the nonsense and left. I'm thankful that guys like Kelley Carlton and Richard Allen have stuck around all these years. They're two great contributors.

I don't know who moderates this place, but it has improved greatly recently. It's the best it's been in many years. Hopefully it continues in that direction and eventually gets back to the great forum it once was.

Changing times

I agree with you TerryM---I guess I joined in 99 or 00. I remember how great this forum was for late model fans AND competitors. Big change for the worse in mid to late 2000s. Not bad now. Social media behavior on here still frustrating, I give modjr credit though.

Don't remember when I first joined but I do know I lurked for a few years before I did so. It was a long time ago though, met a lot of really great people here, unfortunately I got sidetracked and sort of grew away from racing the last few years but I do pop in from time to time to see what is up. I know a lot of old friends are very active keeping in touch on Facebook but I stubbornly refuse to go down that Facebook path.

Did not get to a single race last year, I am hoping to change that this year be it Late Model or Sprints since I love em both. I know Mansfield is starting to look like a possibility for me or at the least Attica since I do drive by it about every weekend. I just got to free up some time to do so. It did get very ugly here for quite a while, not here enough to determine if that is getting any better or not, life is too short to deal with and or stress out over things like that.
