If my memory is correct, the buick engines were just a SBC with a cylinder head that carried a buick part number. Same as the more popular pontiac stuff.

Was thier backup another Buick? Even though they were run before the way it sounds. Seems like some extensive practice should've been done to try it if they didn't. Definitely not when you plan to run for Lucas oil ROY.

Terrible decision to leave the Blount ride. Was not ready for a national tour by any means and it showed.

Definitely should've stayed regional this year to see how everything shakes out with the new team before jumping on Lucas or WOO.

I was to, but I absolutely believe in the regional stuff he will be a success in the new chassisOriginally posted by Mams View PostToo bad. Was hoping he would be successful.

Sometimes personality's don't mesh and things happen in racing, that make those from the outside confused. D-Mac is a good shoe and will do well for himself, but not sure he was ready for this national move just yet.

A lot of guys lost engines at Golden Isles. Overton lost a couple of Durham engines. It happens. Shame it happened to him. I admire a guy that has the guts to try something new. The decision to run Lucas was something else. If he was going for ROY against Flinner he would have a solid chance to win with what he has, but against Bronson and Ziegler...not so much.Last edited by Snake X3; 02-08-2018, 10:49 PM.

Yes, that's the engine I'm speaking of, the one with heads from 2009... Not sure what point you were trying to make with that one.Originally posted by UMPDream View PostYou mean, 3 years ago assembling an engine using Clements top end? That Clements had something to do with it. I will say, my Dad used to let a machine shop do the machine work for obvious reasons, then do all the assembling and fine tuning himself.Originally posted by CageFaraday View PostYes, that's the engine I'm speaking of, the one with heads from 2009... Its my understanding that is what LeRoy does, he gets heads ported by Clements and then assembles the engine the way he sees fit. I mean if we get right down to it, Brodix had something to do with it too. Maybe Crower... I have the utmost respect for anyone who still does any of there own work, be it Chassis, Engine or Shocks, your Dad included, I respect that.Originally posted by chupp n bloomer fan View PostThat Clements had something to do with it. No doubt theres thousands of people out there that have the knowledge to build a top tier engine but lack the machinery and resources to do so..ive seen garage built motors run 3-4 years just replacing the bearings each year..ran until the cam lobes wore down to nothing...Originally posted by CageFaraday View PostIts my understanding that is what LeRoy does, he gets heads ported by Clements and then assembles the engine the way he sees fit.
