It's sad that some people don't know how overnight low temperatures work. If the overnight low friday night is 25, that occurs around 6 or 7 AM Saturday. If the program is run properly it will be over before the temps ever drop below freezing.

It's sad you don't understand how the weather works. If the high for Friday 33, the second the sun goes down the temperature starts to drop and drops quickly. It will be below freezing in a matter of minutes. Way too cold to keep the track surface from freezing....

Some of you folks are entertaining. Been to more than one Thaw Brawl in Northern Illinois in March. Temps dipped to around freezing. Track surface was not a issue.

Temperatures would have to be below freezing for quite some time for the surface to freeze. The warmer temperatures just inches down in the track surface will prevent it from freezing.

Bundle up and go enjoy some racing. If you're a pansy, then stay home and enjoy your hot chocolate.

It's sad that you don't understand that the ground absorbs and holds on to heat longer than other surfaces and takes longer to freeze, especially when it's sunny all day. Therefore it will not be an issue.

Track surface won't be an issue. Temps in upper 40's tomorrow and mid to upper 30's Friday aren't going bother the dirt. 2 of 3 Lucas races I've watched there it's always been in the 30's.

Weather channel says it will be 36 degrees at 10pm fri night in Chillicothe. Def cold for a race but for a season opener Atomic Lucas race, stands will still be full...

Remove Heckenast. Not racing until Farmer City since forecast is iffy.

We are talking about the morning before the race. You missed the point.
