if anything it might help some of them step out of the stone age and change with the times, unless they really don't care about the points or a top 4 provisional they can still just show up and race not like its mandatory to do any of this... from a business standpoint this makes perfect sense free advertisement for the promoter and it can help the racers out at the same time

Its been discussed before, and at that time I was totally against the winner of the event having to surrender his shoes, helmet, steering wheel and door panel.

It adds up to them making an additional 11,000 off the race winner...(and gloves and the other body panels they have to surrender weren't even listed yet)
