Whitener & Mathews DQed From Feb. 23 NeSmith Race For Tire Violation

WHITENER & MATHEWS DQed FROM FEB. 23 NeSMITH RACE FOR TIRE VIOLATION

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Mark Whitener of Middleburg, FL and Jeff Mathews of Brandon, FL have been disqualified from the February 23 Rock Auto.com Winter Shootout race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL. Tire samples taken after qualifying from both drivers’ cars failed to meet the required chemical benchmark.

Independent laboratory results of tire samples from the tires on the cars of Group A fast qualifier Mathews and Group B fast qualifier Whitener were the only two tires of the ten tire samples taken over the three days of competition at Bubba Raceway Park that failed to meet the required chemical benchmark.

Both Whitener and Mathews will forfeit their points and earnings for the Friday night NeSmith Late Model Winter Shootout race. NeSmith Racing officials have fined each driver $500 and they will serve a 30-day suspension.

Whitener has already been suspended indefinitely by NeSmith Racing officials for unsportsmanlike conduct after being the aggressor in a physical altercation on Saturday night after the Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race at Bubba Raceway Park.

With the disqualification of Whitener and Mathews from the Friday night RockAuto.com Winter Shootout NeSmith Late Model race, NeSmith Racing officials have adjusted the series’ point standings after the first four races of the eight-race series. The adjusted point standings are posted at www.nesmithracing.com.

The next pair of races for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will be at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN for the Tennessee Tip-Off on March 9 and 10. There will be a $2,000-to-win 40-lap race on March 9, and a $2,500-to-win 50-lap event on March 10. The two races will be Rounds 5 and 6 of the RockAuto.com Winter Shootout Series.

So not only do we get suspended indefinitely for going apepoop in someone else’s pit over a racing deal, when we coulda changed a tire and been back out. We get nailed again for dirty tars.

I mean, it’s Florida locals. Florida produces more tire juice than orange juice.

Eassssssy now.......some of us make "sweeter" juice than others!

Remember, Whitener is from the meth capitol of the world......the Burg, they call it!

Well you might think that is the meth capital of the world but it's not. Florida hasn't been in the top10 in last 8 years. Indiana for last 3 or 4 years has been meth capital. Missouri was 8-10 years before Indiana, Tennessee for 15 years been in top3.

                  Just ask sweets! lmao

That's just a phrase we use down here when an area/town has a bad meth problem!

I've heard from a friend that it works good on tars!

So the only two samples that don't meet th benchmarch come at the same exact time, after qualifying on the same day? That seems awful fishy to me. I don't trust any of these tire tests, especially if it went through blue ridge labs

Well if after qualifying on the first day is when the samples were taken I kinda expect if they were gonna find something it'd be when they checked... Not following your fishing trip????

As to Whitner, maybe this explains is over the top reaction, too much exposure to tire soaking vapors made him crazy. Maybe he can plead temp insanity on the fight/suspension.. JK ROFL

Wonder if we could get Essex to do the call with the lab results??? That would be awesome.....smfh.
