How many guys do you only race against once? That person won't forget it when the shoe is on the other foot. Racing is a fun hobby for me. It's not fun to tear equipment up or be pissed off. Only a tiny percentage of drivers make a living driving.

Good drivers earn something from their fellow competitors,,,,,,it’s called respect!!!!! If you take someone out you loose the one thing money can’t buy in the sport “respect “. That’s why I hate go kart racing and mentality, they tend to follow each other, then knock the leader out of the way and call it racing?????

Today's generation has no respect last year after about 35 yrs away I got back in a car 1 St race back running pretty good give a kid the whole bottom of track he comes off 2 comes up across lf wheel and nose could have turned him in wall but I didn't go into 3 give him a boot to express my displeasure go back by after race he roll up beside me apologizing respect earned that's how you earned back in my day.

I raced against drivers who for years who went on to become stars and never had a cross word some nights you were faster but if you couldn't pass em clean you took what you had and vice versa not that way today esp with Daddy and Mommy paying the bills.

The answer to the question is because the definition of "dirty driving" is often a subjective opinion that is up to interpretation. And that interpretation is going to be subject to personal opinion. Technical infractions, like the measurement of deck height, bore or stroke, or a durometer reading are more quantifiable and are not so much open to interpretation. That is, it either fits the spec or doesn't. That doesn't put officials in a position of making a judgement call that some are going to like and inevitable some will dislike and cry favoritism. Of course, this isn't always true. Sometimes, technical infractions aren't always so clear, and call for a bit of interpretation of the rules, but usually not nearly as much so as the interpretation of "dirty driving" likely would.

It is a fact that iron clad determination of rough driving can be elusive. Usually only one person can totally confirm or disclaim intent and generally that one person isn't going to incriminate themselves in the negative sense.

A zero tolerance policy probably should be maintained in regards to retaliation during non green flag periods. Putting people's well being in jeopardy and inflicting property damage during non green flag periods should be punishable to a degree that would deter the even the most zealous of payback intentions.

As has been said, technical violations are somewhat more clear cut if the sanction is serious about keeping a level playing field for all.

Perfect example today of Joey Loganos chicken (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) move today on Martin Truex they ran side by side for 6 laps with logano giving Truex no room he passed him clean how did the punk respond he turned him .Things like this are why no one respects Logano.Again he was a spoiled little punk i have heard stories of how he used to talk to his crew at AMS WHEN HE was 14 15 yrs old racing Legend cars.My son would have still been digging my foot out of his ass talking to people like that.
