That's going to be a good one......drove up for open practice a couple weeks ago and the track looked great with the new layout.

This race is Honoring one of the finest people to ever grace the gates of any racetrack in America....
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

I saw Gibbons at the big track at Gaffney in '95. He was moving out!. Think he finished 2nd or 3rd in the Blue/Gray. Don't know what he had underneath the hood, but those horses were eating good that night.

Ed had a great smile, a great wit and was one of the most patient drivers I've ever seen race....

But when the opportunity presented itself, he would rip your soul out on the track........his picture should be in every dictionary beside the word " wheelman "......little Ed wrote that book.

Still hard to believe he is gone..........

From the pictures and videos they took the inside walls up and moved them in 10 to 15 feet in the corners. Made the corners wider especially turn 4 where it narrowed up on exit. Looks like they moved the back straight away wall out 15 to 20 feet and bowed it out.

Wish I could make it, Ed was one of the best. Remember him coming to Iowa with the big blue rig (probably late 80's, maybe early 90's), just met his youngest son earlier this year. The entire team and family have always been a class act.
