Knoxville Sprint car Nationals 50th anniversary:
Coming to the white flag, the 15 blew up and Tim Shafer went on by for the win.
    The ENTIRE Grandstands just erupted.

I believe it was 1989 Kenny Simpson Memorial race at Brownstown when John Gill passed Jim Curry at the line for the win. It was a photo finish that took some time for the officials to announce the winner. Everyone was standing on the track waiting for the winner to be determined and place went nuts when Gill was finally anoounced as the winner.
Kind of neat back then cause Curry had won so much he was kind of like the villain.

Here is pass in the grass II : https://youtu.be/OVGjdEefwx4?t=7m5s

I think it's way better the chub's least as far as back and forth over the lap 2 laps
Talk about wreckers or checkers, nobody can say Dane didn't want it more than Cook. I still like Chubs more though, I guess cuz I was there. I have no clue how he made it through the infield. You can't see it in the video, but he didn't touch turn 3 at all. How he thought that would work, is beyond me.

So who really knows. I remember the car making a weird move right before Birky passed him, but he was still under when he went under the flagstand.

2 that stick out in my mind are Chubs pass in the grass at PRP in the late 90s, and Delmas Conley running his own son Rod off the back stretch at atomic just a couple years back for a win after a last lap restart.

I can't believe this thread is nearly 3 pages long, and no one has mentioned the pass in the grass. I thought some of guys were hardcore fans?
I saw the pass in the grass. Was actually there. In my opinion Frank should have been DQ'ed. That was dangerous. He could have piled up several cars sliding back onto the track in turn 3/4.

Like Moran, Chub was blocking the bottom all feature long, to keep from being passed by Drake in this case.

                  Eriez Speedway September Sweep 2016

Chub Frank and Dave Hess Jr ran multiple laps side by side. Hess pulled last lap pass. It was the best racing I've ever seen. Hess was hopping in turn 1 and 2 for multiple laps. This is a must see race. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TAOXbo4gk1g

He would've been one of the best. I often wonder how many championships and crown jewels he'd have by now. So happy he battled hard and survived the wreck, but so sad to not get to watch him on the track again.

Jackie Boggs passing Matt Westfall off of turn 4 to win the buckeye finale at atomic. Westfall had led 49 laps and was way out in front when a caution came out. I’ll see if I can find the video.

Boggs passing Francis and then Bloomer to take the Lucas win

Also one of the gator 50’s Jackie had (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) near lapped the field and lost a driveshaft coming to the white flag and still managed to roll around to a decent finish ( rod
                        Conley won)

The show me 100 2 or 3 years ago was an awesome finish. The whole crowd was into it. Pierce was flying catching bloomquist and someone else. Forget exactly what happened but bloomer lost a wheel, and pierce had a flat i believe under the caution. Pretty sure Pearson jr ended up winning but those few laps there before the end was awesome racing.

Zero,s lift bar broke on last lap at Knoxville. 100 percent true! Only good thing for him, broke on last lap otherwise no 2nd place money. Car stopped in turn 1 an 2 after checker so would have Dnf

You beat me to that one that was the best slider I have ever seen in person and it was a heat race at the Million dollar race
