Why does everyone always jump on the "need to run a proven chassis" bandwagon? If you are relying on information from someone else to make you fast, you're only ever going to be the 2nd fastest car. Id rather see people trying their own thing than see another XR1 finishing mid pack.

I think if that is his dream go for it he is not getting any younger.I wish i had went after my dream when i was young. I raced about 45 years ago won alot but had to quit and my dream of racing big time was gone . GOOD LUCK!

As expected that combination of motor and chassis he chose didn't last long.

Perhaps it's as simple as the money ran out... It takes courage, plus time and money to develope something outside the norm, but it doesn't mean it was the wrong thing to do. Any idiot with cash can dial up shinnston an order a car and join the lemming parade. I applaud Donald for making an effort to break out on his own, I'm sure he learned a lot, more than most will ever have the courage to seek. Without people like Donald, nothing new would ever be discovered. It may have been a bit over zealous to attempt both an engine and chassis experiment at the same time, but ...
