There are things to be learned from motorcycle racing

You took the works right out of my mouth, CNBF. That Watkins Glen deal was hilarious. Harvick does a TV interview saying he was gonna' kick Montoya's ass not even 10 minutes after he had a hold of Montoya with no one around to stop him. Well gee Harv, you just had your chance to kick Montoya's ass and you chose to walk away. I wonder why! LOL! The difference was Harvick had his RCR protectors nearby during the TV interview.

The RCR crew in those days used to being very protective of their drivers. They prevented several ass kickin's that were coming arnhead's way over the years. One of the more famous incidents was at North Wilksboro back in the late 80's when arnhead and Ricky Rudd came together on the last lap. That incident produced one of the finest whining performances of all time as given by ol' arnhead.

I think something could be learned from navigating a bike through stuff like this at 30-40mph.

I’m kind of curious as to how many of you all are fans of motorcycle racing and if you used to participate in it. Also if you watch any races whether it’s the pros on tv or if you go to the local tracks to watch. I’ve raced and been around motocross since I was 4 and is still my favorite form of racing. Be interesting to know how many more people on here enjoy 2 wheels as much as 4.

I raced motorcycles on a very small scale back during my high school days. I had very little money in those days and my parents weren't all that happy with my fledgling racing career but I raced as much as money would allow. It was local short track flat track style. Wasn't very good at it, either. Had a great time while it lasted.

I'm ashamed to admit that we have 3 huge motorcycle racing events less than 2 hours from the house and I've never attended either one. One is the Peoria TT and the other 2, which I previously mentioned, are The Springfield Mile on Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend. I love watching those events on TV and I'm pretty sure being there in person would be much more exciting than watching on TV.

Mike maresca started out racing dirt bikes. Believe Mason Zeigler did as well

I ride and race quads on a off here and there, also attend several mx races during the year. It's probably my 2nd love behind what we watch every weekend.

Sheldon Haudensheild raced bikes as a young kid too.

I follow Supercross and Motocross pretty close most of the time. It and DLM racing are by far my two favorite forms of motosport. I ride a 450, and am way excited about my kids finally getting to ride with me this summer. I've got plans for the North South and World this year as well as the MXoN and hopefully Muddy Creek National. Love them both, no other type of racing even comes close IMO
