Everything ive heard about Port Royal has been good so im hoping i can make the trip this weekend. Use to go to Hagerstown alot and was the 1st dirt track i had ever been to. I was maybe 7 the 1st time and all i remember is the outlaw sprints were there. But always a good show and looks like theyve had 2 good weeks so far with full or almost full fields in all 3 classesOriginally posted by BTExpress View Post
I went to Hagerstown for the first time in 15 years last year for the Frank Sagi tribute race and really enjoyed myself. Started going back to Port Royal on a regular basis (3 or 4 times per year) for the bigger sprint car shows. As previously stated on this forum, what they have done to Port Royal facility- wise is amazing.

Debating on Potomac for Friday also. Atleast thats close by being only 20 min away, with Htown 3 hours or so. Havent been yet this year, hopefully they can start pulling some more cars there. Dont need a full field for a good show just sad seeing a handfull of cars knowing how it use to be there. Hagerstown and Winchester have had good fields so far so maybe its just the Friday night thing. IdkOriginally posted by Mudweiser View PostMake that 4! And I'm going to hit Potomac on Fri if work doesn't run too late..

It's definitely the Friday night show, way too tough with beltway traffic for guys to make it.. I can remember going through the 90's and early 2000's, the pits would be packed and the stands were crowded.. Darn shame, Potomac is usually pretty racy...Originally posted by jlacey View PostDebating on Potomac for Friday also. Atleast thats close by being only 20 min away, with Htown 3 hours or so. I wish you all the best of luck on seeing a good show at Hagerstown.. Hasn’t been much passing in the supers there this year. Track has been black in hot laps. Really needs a new surface

I started typing this earlier this week, now everything likely has changed! Ga Tech Friday, Dixie Ultimate Saturday & Rome Ultimate Sunday! The forecast sucks for Sunday, so they cancelled it! Either Mickey or Kelly, probably Mickey! I may be a decent Husband & Dad, and see no live racing this week!! It does happen!! I will be in Talladega next week rain or shine!! I hope for good weather for a change, but if it rains I may drink with B & crew!! I will be on 4M this weekend looking for updates & wishing I was there!

If everything works out I will be heading to Dells Raceway Park for the IceBreaker 100 on Sunday for my 1st race of the year. Asphalt super lates and Great Northern Sportsman Series. It's the only race that hasn't been cancelled yet in my area.Last edited by i like racing; 04-20-2018, 10:52 AM.

Yeah its a shame, ive been stuck in that friday afternoon traffic many times coming from Baltimore. I started going around 88 as a kid and went weekly till about 97. I remember the lower pits and infield being full and it wasnt unusual to have consis for the LM and pure stocks. Now the majority of drivers that come are locals in the county.Originally posted by Mudweiser View PostIt's definitely the Friday night show, way too tough with beltway traffic for guys to make it..
