    Shoutout to a few tracks

With all the negative on this forum, I’d like to spread a little positivity.

Shoutout to Virginia Motor Speedway on their event this weekend. They knew all eyes would be on them and they took the opportunity to try and make some new fans and show their race for free on Facebook. Feature turned out to be pretty entertaining.

Also shoutout to Fayette County (Brownstown IL) for throwing together a last minute race for the fans and drivers on a cool Tuesday night. It looks like they got a good car count and the picture I saw looked like a good crowd as well.

Hats off to these tracks and I hope they made some money along the way.

Agree 100% I'm glad a track finally saw the free marketing potential something like Facebook live has to offer, instead of bashing fans about using it why not use it for your own gain its there its not going anywhere embrace it!! I guarantee they have new fans that will check out the track in the future after this weekends live feed, myself included

Facebook Live is a great promotional tool and more tracks should use it as such. Where the problems come into play is when an event is being offered for internet PPV and you have a couple of people playing amateur cameraman in the stands and it's diminishing the bottom line for the PPV providers. Last July I saw a couple of people escorted out of a track in Indiana during Indiana Sprint Week. The event was being sold as a PPV and the guys who were pirating the video were warned at least once. That's not right and whatever happens to the wannabe cameramen is their own fault. We'll probably be seeing more ejections in the future as Internet PPV becomes more prevalent, and rightfully so.

I agree Facebook Live can hurt a track when fans do it, especially when they are attempting to make revenue from PPV. The way VMS did it (un-advertised) worked out well for them. They got all the fans that planned to attend there and then they showed all the other fans what they were missing out on by not coming. I think their big show in June will benefit from it.
