    Car counts

38 - Lucas at Hagerstown... 39 - WoO at Whynot... 37 - slocumb... 28 - ray cook at Florence... 29 - Ultimate at Dixie... 27 - SAS Duck river. Lot of series racing this weekend and good car counts across the board. Good to see

Good car counts at regional and national events but the local car counts are down big time in the mid Ohio valley. 13 cars at midway last night for 5k to win. Several tracks have seen single digit car counts so far.

I was thinking the same thing. 11 at Atomic last night. 10 at Legendary Hilltop on Friday night. 7 at I77.

These series have simply lifted the better cars from the weekly shows as the weekly shows have died.

Supers on weekly shows has been dead for years. Most tracks run crates on weekly shows and in my area their car count is still high.

Better than the local counts sucking AND regional series’ having car counts that suck!

Be interesting to see what Eldora pulls this Saturday with 5,000 to win and 500 to start. It is an ALMS show. I hope 30 to 35.

I am sorry you live in one of the many dead zones. Ohio Valley hasn't been dead.

I live in the the south. Most tracks around me run a super series of some kind once or twice a month, but on weekly shows run crates and they have 20-30 every week. Not dried up....most southeast guys follow regional series like SAS, Carolina Clash, Ultimate, Southen Nat's, and many following WOO and Lucas.....sure I'd like to see supers every week, but these crate guys put on great races.

This is what happens when rules, prices, tech are let get out of hand.

There are too many specials, and it has negatively affected car counts at weekly shows in a big way. Not that I blame tracks for scheduling specials, because they bring the fans out more than weekly shows, and tracks have to make money to continue to exist.

I agree it has been a sad year for local racing so far. <10 late models and <14 for a $5k show. <10 modifieds at most shows here in the Ohio Valley so far this year. Racing is pricing itself out IMO. A $100K race car to run for $500 or $1K to win isn't going to work. Never has and never will. The field fillers are leaving the sport in droves.
