They ran 25 laps.... Don't go off of the jumbotron as it read 27 but that wasn't correct.

No, They did not run 27 laps.... They ran 25 laps. The jumbotron read 27 laps but that was an error.

Race gas is just over 6#/gallon. Cars burn roughly one quart per lap if you assume they are empty at the end of 100 laps. But, they aren't. So, there is 2# tops per lap. Even if they did run extra laps, it's a weak argument.
