I used a water wetter back in the80's at one of my tracks. Expensive ($900.00/55 gallons) but it was effective,. Calcium Chloride also works good... I even used that on the gravel spectator entrace roads... no dust!

Didn't the EPA take the calcium chloride away, or maybe it was just the cost? And is it true that Mooney Starr uses laundry detergent or something down at Batesville?

The WOO used that stuff on Carolina Speedway a few years back no dust but the track came all apart. The dirt wouldn't pack down.

I know they used to use it. You could see the suds when they watered the track. Worked pretty good for keeping the dust down. I don't think they use it anymore, it gets dustier than it used to when it blows off.

Mixing soap with the water will keep the dust down too.

Liquid Tide and/or Basic H is what we used in the early 80's.

Looks like me and dalemcfan had the same idea. If tracks did start using it I wonder how long before somebody got busted for hot tires then claimed the stay wet caused it and attempted to sue the company that makes it.

I remember when goats were allowed onto eldora the week leading up to big events. Their urine coused a chemical reaction that made the dirt a tacky gum like texture that didn't breakdown and stayed sticky the whole night!
